Nineteen (19) states participate in the GeoPowering the West effort:

The Geothermal-biz.com website provides specific information for each state. Information provided varies from state to state, and includes:

  • Relevant state government agencies, e.g., state energy offices;
  • Relevant legislation, e.g., for renewable portfolio standards (RPS) and public benefits funds;
  • State, local, and utility incentives that promote geothermal energy, e.g.,tax incentives, grants, loans, rebates, utility green pricing programs, education and assistance programs, demonstration projects, and research and outreach centers; and
  • Relevant federal government agencies, e.g., Bureau of Land Management, Fish and Wildlife Agency, Bureau of Indian Affairs.
